In Madrid, Spain, students of 3 participating schools of Malta, Spain and the Czech Republic met on 25 - 29th April 2022 to enjoy a week together exploring the cultural heritage of Spain.
We had a lot of workshops about Spanish culture, tasted Spanish cuisine, showed our eTwinning projects results (you can find them in this section too!) about the national cuisines of the participating countries, created some material about the Spanish cultural heritage and visited places, learned some basic expressions in Spanish, explored the historic heart of Madrid within a mythological route of Romans and Greek statues and symbols, admired the amazing paintings in the famous worldwide gallery Museo del Prado within a workshop about the most famous paintings, visited the UNESCO sights Alcalá de Henares and Toledo. In medieval Toledo, we could admire within a mathematical route some places connected with the 3 cultures having lived there in Middle ages, e.g. the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, the Synagogue of Santa María la Blanca, medieval fortification, cathedral and stone bridges, Bisagra gate...
Within a workshop, we took many photos in Alcalá de Henares and students were competing for the best photo in a photo competition. Spanish students were our guides, guiding us at places in various languages.
Dannish teachers came for the job shadowing and joined us in some project activities too.
Staying in families also brought a lot of experience to us, our students could find out what it is like to live in a big city and we enjoyed a lot of fun together!
