Agrupamento de Escolas de Santo André (AESA) is situated in Barreiro, a municipality in Setúbal District in Portugal. Barreiro has around 80 000 inhabitants and it is situated South from the river Tagus, only 20 minutes away from the capital Lisbon.

AESA is a big, diverse and multicultural school cluster that integrates four schools, from pre-school to secondary level.

Up to the 9th grade general education is provided. From the 10th grade on students can choose from four different study fields: Science and Technology, Economy, Arts, Languages and Human Sciences.

Also, there are vocational/professional courses in the fields of Information Technology, Graphic Design and Tourism. Our secondary school also offers evening classes for adults.

Simultaneously, there is a big variety of extra-curricular activities, which are integrated in different Clubs and Projects where students can enrol in order to develop their transversal skills and competences, such as citizenship, tolerance, acceptance and respect for others. All this makes AESA a very dynamic institution, culturally and socially.
