    (2 slide)In Lithuania IT plays an important role in the educational process.

    (3 slide) Let's start with the youngest children – kindergarden. Lithuania has 6 technologically advanced nurseries, where is used  IT. Tablet PCs, the Internet and new technology-based training programs are used here. During geography lessons in terms of the mountains, we can climb Everest and  monitor the air in a real time. Gadgets  dedicated for art help draw using gouache or watercolor. Children play educational games, learn the alphabet in English and Lithuanian.

    Working with technology is limited. Curriculum is additional with iPad applications. However, the iPad is used by three-year-old kids no more than 3 times a week for 20 minutes.

    (4 slide) Secondary schools use IT widespread as well. We have electronic registers, so by having a computer, phone or tablet  we can see our marks, classwork and homework, timetable or classmates birthdays anytime and anywhere. Also, we can communicate with friends using Facebook, Viber, Whatsapp, Skype. So, even if  we are at home we can participate in the lessons.

    (5 slide) Lithuania is rapidly increasing in number of smart classes and smart boards. Students have their own tablets    and carry out the tasks assigned by teachers. In order to improve teachers' digital literacy competence and create schools, motivating creativity, stimulating learning environment ,,Samsung Electronics Baltics" in collaboration with the program "Let's teach" and Kaunas University of Technology invites active Lithuanian teachers to participate in free training courses.

    (6 slide) After school students continue their studies at university. IT is used here as well. Vilnius University uses virtual learning environment, too. This is the information and communication technology-based learning system used in the study process. The benefit is that the learning process use different methods, students can choose the most convenient study time, location and duration.

    (8 slide) Curious and creative people who are interested in technology and electronics  join to the organisation "Green Garage". It is a place where everyone can realize their ideas and become a true "maker". This is a unique opportunity to learn, discuss interesting topics, listen to creative people and professional experience.

    (11 slide) 3D printing technology IN Lithuania develops tremendous speed. Parameters of printed objects can be very different: from small, rigorous checks on products such as jewellery, up to very large objects such as cars or a variety of unmanned aircrafts. Lithuanian industry has a relatively wide use of 3D printing technology to its production. For example, it is actively used by the automotive industry, metal foundries, manufacturers of electronics and automation. The technology is starting to assert itself more seriously in dentistry, printing implants.

    (13 slide) Following the West Europe, Lithuania decided to start electronic publishing. Now in Lithuania already 30% of publishing trade is using electronic publishing, the other 43% decided to start it in the near future  and the last 33% decided to keep on traditional printing. The advantages of e-books: interactivity, ecology, the ability to add text to the images and sounds, simpler and much faster dissemination, lower  price.

    (14 slide) In Lithuania we have an abillty to vote online. Electronic voting helps thousands of disabled people to feel as full citizens in Lithuanian. They can vote at home. Electronic voting is secure and ensure the confidentiality of the election, prevent purchase of votes.

    (15 slide) In Lithunia online banking is very popular. Online banks offer to pay bills, view account history, change the bank account as to the currency as well as the order of other banking products: payment cards, loans, deposits in the open and all that we can do while sitting at home.

    The electronic banking services:

    • You can use  always and everywhere 
    • Handle financial matters on the Internet  cheaper and faster than in the Bank section.

    (17 slide) At least once per year around 49% of Lithuanians buy goods online. Electronic shops access is fast and convenient without leaving house.

    In Lithuania, the most popular online stores are the following:

    • vaistinė.lt - sells medicine chest
    • knygos.lt - sells books
    • Neriba.lt and pigu.lt these elektronic shops sell many items
    • avitela.lt sells household items.

     

    (18 slide) In Lithuania mobile network provides these operators: "Omnitel", "TELE 2", "Bitė", "Eurocom","Tele 2", "Teledema".

    (19 slide) Omnitel is the biggest mobile network company in the Baltic States. It is also a member of “TeliaSonera” group.

    (20 slide) TELE2 - the most popular mobile network operator in Lithuania.

    (21 slide) In 2011 "Omnitel" started suppling 4G network. "TELE2" started suppling it in 2014 and in 2015 "Bitė" joined to 4G, too.

    (22 slide) Now around 90% of Lithuanians use 4G network.

    (23 slide) „Teo-Lt“, „Mezon“, „Zebra“, „C-Gates“ „Sky.net“ and other companies provide internet in Lithuania. Teo LT telecommunications company in Lithuania is owned by Telia Sonera group and it is the main Internet provider in Lithuania. In 2011 about 65% of the households in Lithuania already had internet. In 2011 in our country worked 906 webpages of State and municipality institutions. According to “Rotten WiFi” app's results, Lithuania gets into top 20 countries of the fastest public space internet. In Lithuania internet download speed reaches 83,4 Mbps and upload reaches 69,5 Mbps.

                          (24 slide) Many software companies work in Lithuania and the most popular of them are: “Internet Solutions”, “Asseco Lithuania”, “Team Gate”, “HNIT-Baltic”.

    (25 slide)"Internet Solutions" are inovative solutions‘ company, which is earned 4 years of successful experience and owning over 500 customers. This company offers webpage creating and advertisment services.

    (26 slide)"Asseco Lithuania" is a software development company which belongs to Asseco Group. Asseco Group is a federation of companies engaged in information technology leaded by the Polish IT company Asseco Poland SA. Asseco Group offers comprehensive, proprietary IT solutions for all sectors of the economy.

    (27 slide)"HNIT-BALTIC" is a constantly expanding international company, having more than 400 customers worldwide.  The company provides software solutions and professional services including software development, customization, implementation system integration, training, consultancy and support.

     (28 slide)"Team Gate" is Customer Relationships Management of the new generation. "Team Gate" offers cloud computing, selling CRM instalating, selling analysis and accounts services.

    (30 slide) Lithuania attempts to install telemedicine. The point is to take a photograph of moles, oncology derivatives and send it to specialists of medicine. Photographs should be in a good resolution, so equipment is tricky and expensive.

    Benefits of telemedicine:

    • Consuming less time
    • Consuming less funds
    • No waiting in queues
    • You can receive specialists' advice without leaving your home.
    • Determing diseases of skin, eyes and others.
