1. About the project

  •    The Odyssey of words still continues

    Words wandering through time

    Echoes connecting past to present

Roots and sounds, meaning and stories

    And here we come

    Etwinning explorers of the journey

'Cos the "Odyssey of Words still continues"

The main concept of the project focuses on the study of word origin and the transition of words from the Ancient Greek to Latin and the modern European languages. Students are invited to search for the word etymology and the common roots of everyday words used in their native languages and thus appreciate the importance of word etymology by gaining insight into classical languages, literacy, history and civilization of western cultures.
