SURVEY

  • One of the main outputs of our project were the surveys our students did about the opportunities the area/region where they live offer in terms of further education (universities, etc.) and/or jobs.

The Italian students interviewed 500 university students of 25 different universities in Rome asking them three kinds of questions: 1) why they chose that university; 2) how they value the university they are attending; 3) what they expect from their future.

Our students were not interested in official statistics (which can be found everywhere) but in the perception university students have of their choices (which is very important for secondary school students who are about to choose their future education in a short time). The idea to concentrate on university rather than job opportunities depended on the fact that Liceo Peano is a kind of school where almost all students choose a university career after finishing it.

The results of the survey were quite interesting, since everybody thinks that Italian university students don't value their university very much and they are pessimistic about their future; however, the students who were interviewed had different opinions, as it is clearly possible to see in the results of the survey.
