  • OLLER DEL MAS, FROM THE OLD CONCEPT TO THE NEW ONE

     

    Another activity was a visit to an old castle converted into a winery called Oller del Mas’. That activity was planned to reflect on how the different companies need to adapt their business model according to their new reality.

    Talking about Oller del Mas, it was a winery dedicated only in the viticulture world. After that, they realized the competence was every time bigger and they needed a new concept, a new way to understand their business if they wanted to keep working and not to fail.

     

    The challenge was amazing and they discussed it   for a long time, they didn’t want to finish their activity and finally they chose to specialize in a specific segment of the market, bio-wine growing. That specialization opened new markets and new business possibilities. So, our students had a sample of how to face  a handicap, being creative and giving a new point of view, almost giving authenticity and an extra value to their brand.

    This new point of view, gave them new strategies, new markets, and they found how to relate their activity with the tourism sector, opening a new restaurant focused on the same idea and culture.

    In the afternoon, we complemented the experience visiting Montserrat Sanctuary. Our students enjoyed   one of the most singular religious complex in Catalonia, known worldwide and how they take profit of the tourism and they develop new business strategies like restaurants, transport (cable car), merchandising, etc.
