Our school
The final meeting took place in Rome, in our school, Liceo scientifico "Giuseppe Peano"
Our school is a general secondary education school, situated in the southern part of Rome, in a modern area called EUR, mostly inhabited by middle-class families.
Since its foundation in the 1960s our school has distinguished itself for being a multi-cultural and linguistic centre and it has always had classes with "experimental" curricula. The school offers curricular courses in four foreign languages ("Liceo linguistico") and has specific courses for the preparations to the European language certifications. It also offers curricular courses in ICT and modern technologies using the several labs we have ("Scienze applicate").
The cultural and technological vocation is also well represented by a large choice of other activities open to students and families in the afternoon, including ICT (with international certifications), music and theatre courses. Liceo Peano was the first school in Rome, and one of the first in Italy, to implement multimedia products. Therefore it caters for students from a very large area, including a significant number of foreigners (mainly East European and South American). The school also caters for Italian students with special needs, providing them, when necessary, with technological support.
We have a very long experience in coordinating international partnerships and in participating in international projects of various kinds. Our latest project "Tourism for Teenagers" dealt with the use of modern technology in the world of tourism for young people, and it has received eTwinning national awards in all the applicant nations, while the project itself was evaluated with 98/100 points.
Our international activities not only include European partnerships like Comenius and Erasmus+, but also class exchanges, visits to European institutions, participation in United Nation simulations (students impersonate the UN delegates at FAO in Rome and at the UN in New York), etc.

The mobility in Rome
Sunday, 5th May
This was the day of the arrival of the delegations from the other four countries, the meeting with the Italian families and the Italian teachers.
In the late afternoon we had a first meeting when we introduced the programme of the week, giving the brochure we had prepared.
depliant Rome 2019.pdf
We also gave some practical information about Rome.
Monday, 6th May
Everybody arrived at school at 8:10 and we first had the welcoming address by our headmistress Ms Cristina Tonelli and the deputy Mrs Angela Di Fabio.
After that, the Italian hosts took their guests to make a tour of the school, with short explanations of what Liceo Peano can offer.
At 9:00 both the TPM and the LTT Activities started.
During the TPM teachers and students defined all the activities of the week, especially the final conference, and they started working on the multilingual dictionary https://twinspace.etwinning.net/46079/pages/page/558852
During the LTT Activities the students had a workshop specifically dedicated to how to present a survey.
At the end of the morning our guests accompanied by the students from Class 2D went to visit the Colosseum and the Roman Forum.

This activity was part of both the TPM, since the teachers and the students observed the practical aspects of "how to be tour guides", and the LTT Activities, since it was a real workshop of both entrepreneurial and ICT practice (video creation).
Tuesday, 7th May
In the morning the whole group visited the ASI (Italian Space Agency), which is one of the leading technological agencies in Italy.
https://www.asi.it/en
The idea of the visit to the Italian Space Agency was to find out the possibilities that one of the Italian technological "excellence" can offer. There the students had the opportunitiy of talking with Paolo Nespoli, one of the most famous Italian astronauts, and with the members of an important association of astronomers. In this way they could explore the opportunities of work that this specific technological field can offer.

In the afternoon, the students had an LTT Activity at school, where they practiced the editing of videos using both Kinemaster and AVS Video editor programs.
After that, there was a TPM meeting at the coordinator's house, where we organized the activities of the following days and we discussed about the diffusion of the project.
In the evening the teachers had an "official" dinner at a restaurant in Rome's Ghetto.
Wednesday, 8th May
In the morning we visited the International Fashion Academy Koefia (Accademia internazionale d'Alta Moda Koefia"), which is one of the most prestigious haute couture academies in Rome.
https://www.koefia.com/en/
During the visit, the students had the opportunity of watching real fashion designer at work and of seeing all the different steps in the process of creating a haute couture dress.
The most interesting part of the visit was the meeting with the students of the Academy, who explained what they did there, what opportunities of work they can have, the pros and cons of their activity there.
In the afternoon there was a workshop at school to prepare the final conference, whilte the students who had come for the LTT Activities had two hours ICT lessons on the use of Blogger and Prezi (both necessary to complete the main outputs of our project).
Thursday, 9th May
On Thursday morning our guests accompanied by the students from Class 4D went to visit the Vatican Museums and St.Peter's.
This is the website of the Museums: http://www.museivaticani.va/content/museivaticani/it.html
This activity was also part of both the TPM, since the teachers and the students observed the practical aspects of "how to be tour guides", and the LTT Activities, since it was a real workshop of entrepreneurial practice.
It was not possible to film a video inside the Museums, but the students were able to be the tour guides using the earphones, both in the Museums and in the church.
In the afternoon there was a TP Meeting, with the final preparation of the conference. The students followed an ICT workshop on Prezi and video editing (AVS Video editior and Power Director) (LTT Activities).
Friday, 10th May
Friday was the busiest day of the week.
In the morning the foreign students and teachers went to visit Rome City Centre, accompanied by some Italian teachers and the students from class 4D.
It was a complicated visit, because the students were divided in smaller groups who followed different routes, but actually visited the same spots (with some little differences), which were: S.Pietro in Vincoli (Michelangelo's Moses), Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo, Pantehon, S.Louis of the French, Piazza Navona.

This was the last part of the "how to be a tour guide" activities. Just like the previous ones, it was part of both the TPM, since the teachers and the students observed the practical aspects of tour guiding, and the LTT Activities, since it was a real workshop of both entrepreneurial and ICT practice (video creation).
After a quick lunch everybody went back to school for the final conference.
The conference was held in the beautiful "Aula Rosa" at Liceo Peano at the presence of all the students and teachers who took part in the project (Italian and foreigners), other teachers from our school and from some other schools in the area (Liceo Aristotele, Istituto Professionale Tor Carbone), parents and other people from the area.
The Conference was divided in three moments: 1) the presentation of the "Erasmus+ Programmes Change Life, Open Minds" by Anna Butteroni from the Italian National Agency Erasmus+ INAPP; 2) the students' presentation of their surveys about job opportunities in their regions; 3) a short presentation of the students' blogs.
Here is the link to the details of the conference: https://twinspace.etwinning.net/46079/pages/page/644076
The final part of this bisy day was the farewell party at Seraphicum, with the participation of all the students involved in the project, and the school teachers and staff.
During the party the some students had the opportunity to deliver a short personal speech on "the meaning of Erasmus+ projects" and show the videos they had prepared at the end of the activities: https://twinspace.etwinning.net/46079/pages/page/648168.
If the success of a project can be measured by the emotion involved, then this was a great project!
Saturday, 11th May
All the students from all the countries came to the school to attend the Certificate Ceremony and for a short meeting to discuss about the next steps in our project.
Then it came the farewell time where the host students said good-bye to their guests who were going to leave Italy. And a lot of extra emotion with tears and laughs at the same time...
