ASI Activity

  • ASI (Italian Space Agency) Activity

An important activity was the visit to the Italian Space Agency (ASI - Agenzia Spaziale Italiana), which is part of the European Space Agency.

The idea of the visit to the Italian Space Agency was to find out the possibilities that one of the Italian technological "excellence" can offer.

Italy is a post-industrial country and the only possibility we have to compete in the global world is producing and selling high technology, which we can export everywhere in the world with little competition.

Therefore, this is one of the places the students should take into account for their future careers.

This is the official website of the agency: https://www.asi.it/en

The visit was divided in two parts:

First we had the opportunity of meeting one of the most famous Italian astronauts, Paolo Nespoli. He talked briefly with the students explaining what kind of job he did and the possibilities of this kind of career.

After that the students were divided in smaller groups and they could visit the Space Agency, accompanied by volunteers of an Association of astronomers "Associazione Tuscolana di astronomia" (who are specialized in the divulgation of the knowledge about astronomy and space exploration):

Apart from the visit to the Agency, these astronomers explained what kind of work they did and the opportunities of career there are in the Apace Agency and more in general in this field.
