Getting to know activities followed by IT workshop by Sari Riekki. Tutors’ workshop on creating a business plan: the students will create a business plan in small groups and present their plans on Friday.

Introducing the Geopark area in Rokua. Getting to know what kind of jobs the area has to offer: the employees at Suppa told us about their jobs. Different outdoor activities/workshops: a quiz about the area, snowshoeing, studying the depth and texture of snow, preparing sausages and grilling marshmallows in a hut.

Rovaniemi day: first a visit at Pilke science center where we had the opportunity to learn more about the jobs the forest industry has to offer. We had workshops that made the students think about how versatile wood is as a material, and in how many different ways they can employ themselves in the forest industry.

Oulu day: a visit to the University of Oulu. Sanna Heikkinen gave a presentation on the different studying opportunities the university has to offer, and the students (as well as the teachers) got to go on a tour around the university, guided by the students who study at the university. After lunch we had Teea Oja’s workshop on career counselling. (You can find the slide show as an attachment.)
