SDG 7- Affordable and Clean Energy
"Our House in the Village" by Kemalettin TuฤŸcu is a novel about a boy who lives in a village where there is no electricity. One day some houses and the school in the village get electricity but the boy's family cannot afford it. The book talks about the difficulties of living without electricity and the inequality to reach better life conditions. This book isn't in Greek (it's translated by Argiro Pipini) but I would like to suggest it to all my peers.

The story of THE BOY WHO TAMED THE WIND is a fascinating story of faith, perseverance and hope. This is a wake-up call that helps both young and old readers feel grateful for their living conditions and find that study, ingenuity and hard work can really change lives. The book is also ideal for young readers who hide a little inventor in them and parents will find in it a true hero-role model for future citizens of the world. Finally, it is worth noting that "The boy who tamed the wind" contains an important ecological message, as through the personal course of William Kamkwamba we realize how important it is to exploit alternative energy sources, especially in countries plagued by difficult weather conditions such as prolonged drought.

This book is based in the story of William Kamkwamba, who was born in Malawi in 1987 and at the age of 14 managed to build a wind turbine on his own that would significantly improve the quality of life of his family and fellow villagers in a country where only clean water and electricity are available for the 2% of its population.

It fits both for SDG 6,7
