  •                                  Report on 1st Short Term Joint Staff Training in Poland

    Attendees: 27 total (3xUK, 5xRO, 5xSK, 4xHR, 5xPL, 5xTR)

    1. Training in Methods:

    Training of all professionals from participating schools

     

    • training in TEACCH, Process Schemes, Video modeling, Makaton, Method of Practical Action (according to application form)

    Acquired skills:

    1. filming video scenarios of pre-vocational and vocational skills

    2. creating a new folder on tablet – copying and pasting videos on tablets

    3. understanding main principles of creating process scheme to support pre-vocational and vocational skills

    4. using main principles of TEACCH in video scenarios; using visualisation and structure to support understanding working environment, work tasks and support independence

    5. understanding main principles of MAKATON and integration of the method into pre-vocational and vocational education

    6. Using practical action – various pre-vocational and vocational skills directly modelled in working environment

     

    • Certified training in Guidance and communication of visually impaired – additional training (added value of the project)

     

    • see results of training evaluation form filled in by all participants after the training – quality measure of the training at the end of this report

     

    2. Presentation of pre-vocational and vocational educational systems

    Each participating school presnted the educational system of their country

    with special focus on pre-vocational and vocational skills of students with

    mental handicap

    • presentation – comparison of similarities and contrasting of differencies among educational systems regrading pre-vocational and vocational education in participating countries (according to application form)

    3. Presentations of organisations – examples of good practise – non-formal learning

    • Presentation of host school

    • presentation of the host school

    • observing lessons

    • dog assisted therapy

    • revalidation room

    • special facilities – chromo therapy, aromatherapy, sensory integration therapy

    • Visit to EDTEREK - Innovative Educational an Therapeutic Departement – example of good practise of integration of primary class at mainstream school

    • Visit to Vocational School for Mentally Handicapped in Bytom – observation and workshop of method of practical action: cooking class, handicrafts

    • Visit to Social Enterprise – CAMPFIRE – in Cracow – organisation supporting employment of people with mental handicap

    • Visit to Occupational Therapy workshop – presentation of organisation and observation of workshops: tinkering, ceramics, tailoring

    • Visit to Department of Professional Activity – SKYLIGHT – example of good practise of employment of people with mental handicap

    4. Dissemination activities

    • Meeting with vice-mayor of the city Bytom

    • Presentation of Facebook Fun Page of My Work is My Future

    • Presentation of the progress on the eTwinning TWINSPACE page and adding new memebers (new registration at eTwinning Portal)

    • 3 new articals in local media in Poland

    • promoting project and building new links with related organisation, local businesses run by non-government organisations

    • Hosting school in Poland decided to change the date of Open Day in order to promote our project to the end of the school year 2015-16, when more outcomes of the project will be ready, including a website with a bank of outcomes – video scenarios and picture process schemes

    • Students of Special Pedagogy of Katowice University were invited and attended our training on methods: Makaton, Videomodeling, TEACCH, Guidance and communication with visually impaired.

    5. Europass

    All paticipants (22 professionals) apart from staff from the host organisation obtained Europass Mobility Document.

    Croatian team will contact their Europass Centre in order to obtain their Europass Evidence Number after their return from the project mobility – as they were instructed by their NA before their mobility in Poland.

    6. Other info:

    • All participants signed the list of attendance and received the certicficate of attendance.

    • All parters will organise the dissemination meeting in order to train other staff from their school in the methods from this training – the dissemination seminars will take place in December or January – after 1st application of questionnaire.
