    Report on 3rd short-term joint staff training in Turkey

     

    Date: 7th - 11th November 2016

    Duration: 5 days

    Attendees: 21 total (2xUK, 5xRO, 5xSK, 4xHR, 5xTR) ) Polish team could not attend due to their government restriction about situation in Turkey

    Place: İzmir Özel Eğitim İş Uygulama Merkezi, Zübeyde Hanım Mah. 7447/11 Sok. No :10 Karşıyaka İzmir

    1. Training in Methods:

    Training of all professionals from participating schools

    training in: 

    • Occupational therapy in special education
    • Monitoring the Process of Socialisation and Assisting with the Employment of Qualified Students
    • IEP (Individualized Education Plans) Teaching-training 

     

    additional training in: 

    ·         Skill training of intellectually disabled by Turkey

    ·         Ceramic workshop by Turkey

    ·         Emboroidery workshop using photo instructions by Romania

     

    Acquired skills:

    1. To understand basic principles of occupational therapy in special education
    2. To monitor the process of socialisation and to assist with employment of qualified sutdents
    3. To create individualized educational plans
    4. To use forward and backward chaining in teaching skills to intellecutually disabled
    5. To use clay to create basic forms in ceramic workshop
    6. To use printed visual aid – photo instructions to make simple embroidery pattern

     

    ·         see results of training evaluation form filled in by all participants after the training attached at the end of the report – quality measure of the training 

     

    2. Presentation of Cooperation between schools and local businesses – link between the education and world of work

    Each participating school shared presentations on: Cooperation between schools and local businesses – link between the education and world of work in the country of the participant – (Polish team uploaded a Powerpoint presentation with recorded verbal comments on TWINSPACE for other to share)

     

    3. Presentations of organisations – examples of good practise – non-formal learning

    ·         Presentation of host school

    ·         presentation of the host school: İzmir Özel Eğitim İş Uygulama Merkezi

    ·         Vocational Learning – presentation of various workshops at school creating products for open market: assembling bathroom paper towel dispensers; assembling electricity sockets, carpentery workshops – creating wooden educational resources; paper box folding

    ·         observing lessons and discussion with teachers and attending morning assembly

    ·         presentation of special facilities for teaching pre-vocational and vocational skills: ceramic workshop, kitchen workshop, gardening workshop, chicken farm workshop,  

    ·         Visit to Visit to “OÇEM” ((School for Children with Autism)

    ·         Visit to Down Café – sheltered employment for people with Down Syndrom 

     

    4. Dissemination activities

    ·         Meeting with the mayor of Karşıyaka

    ·         Presentation of updates of project website of My Work is My Future

    ·         Presentation of the progress on the eTwinning TWINSPACE page

    ·         Open day for public on 7th of Novebmer – 1st day of the project training – Student´s performance of traditional folk dance and songs.

     

    5. Europass

    All participants (16 professionals) apart from staff from the host organisation  and Polish team, who could not attend the training because of government restriction, obtained Europass Mobility Document. 

    6. Other info:

    ·         All participants signed the list of attendance, which will be scanned and uploaded on TWINSPACE under the MATERIALS/FILES/3rd Short Term Joint Staff Training

    ·         All partners will organise the dissemination meeting in order to train other staff from their school in the methods from this training.– the dissemination seminars will take place in December 2016. Pictures from the event will be shared on FB and TWINSPACE page: DISSEMINATION/ Dissemination meetings.

    ·         All partners will upload their presentation/s on TWINSPACE in relevant sections.

    ·         All participants are responsible for disseminating the project at local or national level – articles, TV or radio entry, conferences – all dissemination activities will be uploaded on TWINSPACE public page DISSEMINATION

    ·         Co-ordinators from participating schools will be responsible for:

    1. Creating new video scenarios and photo instructions with theri teams and send them to project co-ordinator – Monika Smrekova – to be uploaded on project website. – each project partner MUST create at least 10 video scenarios and 10 photo instructions in total.
    2. At least 2 photo instructions and 2 video scenrios MUST be of SOCIAL SKILLS – they will be in national languages (if language is necessary) and publish only under the SOCIAL SKILLS of their language mutation on the myworkismyfuture.eu website
    3. Working on the project outcomes according further agreemetns.
    4. Uploading a video or presentation about their school on the TWINSPACE page called SCHOOL PRESENTATION
    5. Uploading pictures of implementation activities on TWINSPACE page called IMPLEMENTATION with short description of activity.
    6. Uploading case study and a video of a student who was tested in use of video scenario or photo instructions to acquire a certain pre-vocational or vocational skill – this will serve as an evidence and will be display on the TWINSPACE page called CASE STUDIES
    7. Slovak project co-ordinator will crate the TWINSPACE pages: Implementation and Case studies using Padlet application for simple photo and video upload.
    8. Slovak project co-ordinator will evaluate and publish the evaluation form from 3rd Short Term Joint Staff Training in the Training report
    9. Romanian project co-ordinator will crate shared online document to make plans for last project meeting in Lugoj – to fill in infromation about numbers of attendees, accommodation and other necessary documents (invitations, etc)
    10. Croatian co-ordinator will send an english version of 2nd questionnaire to be tranlsated and distributed among staff at all participating schools. – according the project timetable
