    Date: 14th - 18th March 2016

    Duration: 5 days

    Attendees: 27 total (3xUK, 5xRO, 5xSK, 4xHR, 5xPL, 5xTR)

    Place: Catcote Academy, Catcote Road, Hartlepool, United Kingdom

    1. Training in Methods:

    Training of all professionals from participating schools

    training in: 

    • Teaching pre-vocational skills in realistic business environment at school       
    • Recognition and recording of pre-vocational and vocational skills.           
    • Kinesiotherapy                                                                                       
    • (training of Monitoring the process of socialisation and assisting with employment of qualified students was postponed to the 3rd Short-term joint staff training in Turkey due to absence of a key professional from Croatia Maja Postoglu, who is a specialist in the method and could not attend this training)

    additional training in: 

    • Pre-vocational skills workshop to explore embedding Catcote BEESPOKE business and Enterprise skills in to the curriculum
    • Using new web tools in eTwinning - TWINSPACE with an eTwinning ambassador                                                 
    • Recap training on creating video-scenarios and process schemes
    • Occupational therapy                                                            

    Acquired skills:

    1. creating realistic business environment at school to support pre-vocational and vocational skills of students with SEN

    2. recognising and recording pre-vocational and vocational skills in students 

    3. embedding teaching and supporting business and enterprise skills in lessons

    4. opening YouTube account; uploading videos, editing videos in YouTube and Free Video Flip and Rotate programme; using Quick Pic - picture viewer, downloading and organising pictures to folders on tablets

    5. understanding main principles of Kinesiotherapy and Occupational therapy and integration of the methods into pre-vocational and vocational education

    6. advanced using of eTwinning portal and TWINSPACE; uploading presentations using SLIDESHARE; using PADLET to share pictures; creating, editing, archiving PAGES on TWINSPACE

    2. Presentation of specifics in transition of students to world of work

    Each participating school shared presentations on specifics in transition of students to world of work: link between vocational departments and demand on labour market and specifics of sheltered employment and workshops in the country of the participant

    presentation – comparison of similarities and contrasting of differencies among educational systems regrading pre-vocational and vocational education in participating countries (according to application form)

     

    3. Presentations of organisations – examples of good practise – non-formal learning

    • Presentation of host school
    • presentation of the host school: Catcote Academy pathways for different abilities
    • Vocational Learning - presentation by school staff and opportunities to discuss teaching methods and methods of recording progress for students of all different abilities
    • observing lessons and discussion with teachers and attending morning assembly
    • presentation of rebound therapy
    • presentation of special facilities for teaching pre-vocational and vocational skills: gardening, reprographics, beauty salon, school café, cooking and catering workshop, performing arts  
    • Visit to 6th Form Hart Farm – centre for students over 16 providing Art and Craft Courses/Programmes and focused on improving work, social, life and employability skills and enhancing their independence in order to take part in appropriate work placements and/or experience.
    • Visit to Post 19 Catcote Futures – centre for young adults over 19 promoting life-long learning and enhancing life and work skills, including life skill bungalow - facility where young adults learn and practice their daily life skills in home like environment.
    • Visit to the Vestry Café – sheltered workshop run by Catcote Academy where students from the school gain their work experience or internship

     

    4. Dissemination activities

    • Meeting with the mayor of Hartlepool
    • Presentation of the project website of My Work is My Future
    • Presentation of the progress on the eTwinning TWINSPACE page
    • Interview with local newspaper about My work is my future project
    • Hosting school in Hartlepool decided to change the date of Open Day in order to promote our project to February 2017 to annual school event, when the project website will contain more video scenarios, photo instructions and other project outcomes.

     

    5. Europass

    All participants (24 professionals) apart from staff from the host organisation obtained Europass Mobility Document.

    Croatian and Turkish team will contact their Europass Centre in order to obtain their Europass Evidence Number after their return from the project mobility – as they were instructed by their NA before their mobility in the United Kingdom.

     

    6. Other info:

    • All participants signed the list of attendance, which will be scanned and uploaded on TWINSPACE under the MATERIALS/FILES/2nd Short Term Joint Staff Training
    • All partners will organise the dissemination meeting in order to train other staff from their school in the methods from this training. Staff from the participating schools will be trained in using relevant programs when downloading pictures to tablet (Quick Pic); in Free Video Flip and Rotate Programmes when editing video scenarios and in using other tools when downloading videos to the PC or tablets – the dissemination seminars will take place in April 2016. Pictures from the event will be shared on FB and TWINSPACE page: DISSEMINATION/ Dissemination meetings.
    • All partners will upload their presentation/s on TWINSPACE in relevant sections.
    • All participants are responsible for disseminating the project at local or national level – articles, TV or radio entry, conferences – all dissemination activities will be uploaded on TWINSPACE public page DISSEMINATION
    • Co-ordinators from participating schools will be responsible for:
      1. Creating a YouTube channel: MY WORK IS MY FUTURE – PL/UK/HR/TR/RO/SK
      2. Uploading video scenarios onto their channel with appropriate name in English, ex.: Making a sandwich, Washing up dishes etc… and to add in the comments what skills it is: ex.: Work skills, Motor skills… in order to facilitate uploading new videos on the project website
      3. Sending 3 video scenarios and 3 process schemes to project co-ordinator from Slovakia to be added to the website until next project meeting in Croatia in May 2016
      4. Ensuring that the photographs of the process schemes are named 01, 02, 03, 04 ………11, 12… (not 1, 2 , 3, 4 , 5…….10, 11..) as it will cause mixing the order of the pictures: 1, 10, 11…..2, 20 when uploading to the website
      5. Ensuring that the videos and photographs are in appropriate quality and following the TEACCH principles from left to right (when relevant) and preferably will take pictures or film videos from the child’s perspective (from above) – especially in tasks for young students or low ability students.
      6. Sending translation of texts (including PPP presentation about Process schemes and Prezi presentation about video modeling from 1st Short Term Join Staff Training in Poland) of the project website into their national languages. The texts in English will be sent by Slovak project co-ordinator Monika Smrekova in the table. The texts will be translated and sent back in the table till the next project meeting in Croatia in May 2016. All countries are responsible for the quality of the text (grammar, spelling, style..etc.)
