We were given the opportunity to directly contact the Slovenian school reality regarding the inclusion of children with special educational needs. We visited a school in the city of Vrhnika where they study children in primary and secondary education. We observed and interacted with Special Education students in specific classrooms, as well as in mainstream classes. We found many points in common with the Portuguese school reality but also many differences. Contact with them, rather than enriching us, allows us to reflect further on our practices, our difficulties, our longings, our fears and our limitations. And, consequently, to face more easily and assertively the new challenges that concern this theme. It is important to highlight the existence of classes exclusively made up of students with SEN and realize that they cover all subject areas, staying in the same space and with the same teacher, except in the most practical areas. From what we have been given to understand, this practice / methodology works and presents the expected results. Moreover, and not least, sensory contact is one of the most worked with these students.
