Training hosted by the Skupina Primera Training Center from 27 January to 2 February 2019 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Participants: António Oliveira, Bruno Florindo and Cristina Marques
Main objectives of the course:
Special educational need is a generic term used for an impressive variety of diagnoses: physical (eg, muscular dystrophy, chronic asthma, epilepsy), developmental (eg, dyslexia, processing disorder, autism), behavioral / emotional (eg oppositional challenge disorder, panic attacks) and sensory impairments (eg blind, visually impaired, limited hearing).
Understanding the characteristics of special needs and their implications for behavior, learning and the ability to process information is critical for those who work or interact with students with special educational needs.
This course gives participants a fundamental understanding of the diagnosis of different special needs, helping to plan inclusive lessons, creating an inclusive school environment, emotions and attitudes of the teacher, working with students with special needs and working with parents.
