EVALUATION OF THE PROJECT

  • Success assessment was a structural element of the project, not only at the beginning but constantly throughout the project. All participating schools prepared monthly reports about the development and progress of the project. These reports were prepared by mixed work groups of students and teachers. The project coordinator collected the reports, prepared a “partial evaluation report” (PER) every third month to analyze the progress and the results of the project and sent it to the participants. This enabled us to assess the level of the participants' engagement throughout the processes.

    Commonly prepared questionnaires completed by students, teachers and parents were conducted at the end of each project meeting. Local coordinators collected these questionnaires, prepared a report for each meeting (“meeting evaluation report”, MER) and distributed it to all the participating schools. The project coordinator collected the “MERs” and the “PERs”, prepared the “1st year evaluation report” and the “final evaluation report” and then distributed them to all the participants. The results of the evaluation were discussed during meetings and were used to improve effectiveness. Providing feedback was of high importance during all phases of the project, including its conclusion.
    The communication component of the evaluation process was absolutely essential to assure that evaluation findings were appropriately used. Success in this evaluation part required the meaningful and appropriate involvement of at least a representative sample of stakeholders throughout the entire evaluation process. A facebook project group “BRIDGE” was created for communication, upload “products” and evaluation reports, discuss project activities, share ideas and solve problems cooperatively. Moreover, “Twinspace” was a supplementary and effective tool for exchange proposals, opinions and ideas. The coordinating school facilitated communication throughout the project, ensuring that all participating schools made regular contributions to the discussions forums which were set up for the project.
