Activity A6 : After school activities with families
In the last months of the school year 2015-2016 we organized some activities involving the families in order to sensitize our students on some social and working issues and to increase their motivation. These activities contributed to increase a co operative school atmosphere
- Social Solidarity Day ( on 26th May) :
We invited the families to make cakes and different types of ‘focacce’ (Italian flat bread/ white pizza) topped or filled with tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, ham, courgette, eggplants, etc..according to traditional and healthy recipes. What families made was sold at school to all the students and the school staff. The profit made by selling cakes and ‘focacce ‘was donated to the soup kitchen of the town.
Within the S.S.D. students over 18, families and teachers met some volunteers of A.D.M.O. (Organization of Marrow Bone Donors), two donors and a young girl who had been transplanted receiving stems cells. All of them were informed about the importance of donation, an important commitment to help save a life, because understanding the process, recovery and side effects could help people decide if donating was right for them.
The witness of Desirè, a 14 years old girl, recovered from leuchemia thanks to the stems cells of an American donors, really impressed and touched them. Many of the participants to the meeting registered to the international Database. These activities highly motivated the students, the families and the teachers and made them realize how much important solidarity is; furthermore these activities contributed to create a strong cooperative athmosphere.

- The working world (On 4th June ): The important multinational company, Eni-Saipem, met a group of students (selected after a set of tests and a training course held at school by the company tutors within the Activity A3 CAREER PLANNING ORGANISATION) and their families to illustrate ”Progetto Sinergia” . This project aims at joining the working world in a a very specific field, the oil platforms. The experts informed the family about the life on the platform, the advantages and disadvantages of this job, the substantial economic income.
