A.10. “THE BIGGEST, THE GREATEST, THE MOST UNSUNG”

  • A.10. “THE BIGGEST, THE GREATEST, THE MOST UNSUNG”

Great artists could not publish their songs, plays, musical masterpieces just because of their gender. They had to use male names, or their brother´s or husband´s names, like Clara Shuman, or Mozart´s sister. Students have found a musical masterpiece created by a woman in their country and have shared it during the international project workshop in bilateral meetings. National teams of students presented a biography of the musician and the masterpieces are played live by students from the school. During the European events organized by each school for dissemination purposes, musicians from Music schools in the city were invited to participate and play those masterpieces.

The chosen female musician could have had to hide her name because of her gender or could have had more difficulties to be part of the history of music just for being a woman or was not valued at her time. She could be also the first woman dedicated to music in each country.

The aim of the project activity is to value her, is to give her the importance that perhaps she didn´t received at her time.

Each national group of students search for detailed information about a female musician from at least two different resources and make a prezi presentation about her biography.  They recorded a video presenting the musician women´s biography. See what the results are:
