On 6 April 2019 a cleaning event called ’’Let's clean the Czech Republic’’ took place in Frydlant nad Ostravici.

The main purpose was to help our environment by picking up the trash in the streets. The event was a success, even though it was rainy and cold. Over 30 people took part in this activity. Students from our school, a teacher and beyond our expectations local people too. Organizators made maps and sent groups in the highlighted locations. Around the river Ostravice, Hukvaldska street, Bezrucova avenue, and other places. Together we filled 25 big bags of garbage. After the cleaning, we warmed up with hot tea and ate an apple pie made by one pupil. Thank you all who joined this event! We did something good for ourselves, for nature and we proved that we care about the place where we live. We would also thank the organization ’’Let's clean the world (Let's make the world clean), let's clean the Czech Republic’’ and to the City Council of Frýdlant nad Ostravicí for giving us the material needed for the cleaning. We are also grateful to our teacher Mrs. Macurova who gave us a hand in the organization.
