St. John's National School is located in Breaffy, Castlebar, Co. Mayo, Ireland.

We cater for children between the ages of 4-13 years of age. We have an enrolement of 409 children. We are an inclusive, modern and progressive school. We have 28 teachers on staff. We are catholic school and this is a core of our teaching principles and values.

We have a strong emphasis on a happy working enviornment in which our pupils can flourish to the best of their abilities.

Our school was established in 1890. Our school is proud of it’s history, tradition and past-achievements. We are however also mindful of current educational reform and change as we look forward to a bright future.
