  • Sunday 16th December 2018:

French partners arrive in Saluzzo, Italy. The mayor of the city together with the Italian headmaster, teachers and families warmly welcome the French guests.

    Monday 17th December 2018:

    Morning: Workshops at school

English workshop: ice-break activities in English help students to get to know each other better and to develop linguistic skills. Students are motivated to speak in English and they realize how important can be to be able to be fluent in another language, motivating them in the study of foreign languages.

Choir workshop: students rehearsal “Silent night”, the song they have to perform together at the concerts planned for Wednesday and Thursday.

Art workshop: students paint a Mandala with a music theme. This creative activity was aimed to make students relax and feel comfortable, in order to let them talk with their new friends in an easy contest.

Traditional Musical Instruments workshop: Mr. Pellegrino (from Atlante dei suoni di Boves) shows students some traditional instruments and involve them in dance and music activities.

Lunch (catering service) together at school.

Afternoon: Scavenger Hunt in the historic centre of Saluzzo. Students have to solve clues that guide them in front of the main monuments/historical sites of the town. To prove their success they have to take pictures of the team in front of that monument/site. It is a fun way to have a stroll around the centre and historical part of Saluzzo, but at the same time to strenghten bonds among pupils. Getting involved in a group work made them use and develop communication, planning, problem solving and negotiating skills.

Evening: Christmas Dinner for the teachers. As the Italian school is quite big, it is a good way to introduce the French teachers to the Italian ones who haven’t met them yet.

    Tuesday 18th December 2018

Morning: Snowshoe Hiking in the mountains near Saluzzo. A day of nature and friendship.

    Dinner together for the teachers.

    Wednesday 19th December 2018:

Afternoon: Staff meeting. Teachers have benefit from a European dimension of teaching, experiencing cooperation and exchanging good practices.

Evening: School and Choir Concert. Italian and French partners perform their traditional songs and they sing Silent Night all together.

    Thursday 20th December 2018

Morning : Visit and workshop at “L’Atlante dei suoni” in Boves. Students take a journey around the world that makes them get to know more about music in the five continents. They play different musical instruments and get an idea on how an orchestra works.
