STORY TELLING- "CONTES DE CASA"
In Catalonia, on Saint George Day, we celebrate the BOOK and ROSE day, symbols of culture and love. In the streets of every city, town and village there are stalls selling books and roses.
At school we do some activities for celebrating it: reading or watching the Legend of Saint George, a picture contest about the legend, workshops for making roses or dragons and STORY TELLING...
This year three local writers (one of them is our school teacher, Laura Mur) come to tell us some tales.
THE LEGEND OF SAINT GEORGE
In the English classroom we read the Legend of Saint George. It is was a short comic story. Children read in pairs, one student read and the other one had to listen and act out the story ... and then they had to exchange their rols, it was a noisy activity but they collaborate and enjoy a lot!
Finally they had to invent a different ending for the legend, write and draw it and read to their classmates.
