Reading aloud in different languages during Europe's week

In May, during Europe's Week students of different natonalities have read parts of the same book - "How much is friendship worth?" in Portuguese, Cape Verdean, French, English, Ukrainian and Spanish. This activity was held at EB n2 da Lousã school library for students, teachers and parents.

This is one of the parts chosen and translated by Isabella Green, an English student attending our school:

               Mary has got a book

Mary, how much is your book worth to you?

It does not have a price, it is my book.

It has all the stories of the world

And, if I do not like its ending,

I can change it, only invent it

In “How worthy is a friendship?”

    Reading knocks on the door

On May 31st two eTwinner 6 year students have knocked on year 3 class and read different rhymes and tongue twisters that the younger students loved a lot! The activity was organised by the Portuguese Teacher and by teacher librarians.

Preparing our Reading and Cooking Fest

As the Portuguese school year is almost ending we are preparing our eTwinning final activity: the Read and Cooking Fest, so today Lousã team started preparing it with a book by Alice Vieira - it is called "What does this story Taste of?" - Alice Vieira retells traditional stories, such as Red Riding Hood and associates a different recipe to each story, the recipes were created by Vítor Sobral.

    Lousã Team Reading Picnic
We followed our Polish friends' suggestion and had our Reading Picnic at EB n2 da Lousã school on June, 8th. The weather was nice; we chose  our favourite books or the books we were reading and read some parts. We brought biscuits and homemade cakes, baked by the students' moms and grandmothers. We had a great time.

    Our Reading and Cooking Fest
On June, 12th at Lousã Secondary school we held our reading and cooking Fest based on the book "What does this story taste 0f?) by Alice Vieira.

A book full of stories to read, cook and taste! In this book Alice Vieira retells some traditional children’s stories with a lot of humour: the Bad Wolf wants to eat the Little Red Riding Hood and Snow White invites his dwarven friends to open a restaurant ...

The Portuguese Chef, Vítor Sobral wrote a recipe for each tale, so that children try to cook it with their parents and Carla Nazareth created the illustrations.

    Read, cook and enjoy!

We had a great time together celebrating reading and eTwinning.
