  • The Economic Technical Institute, Vitale Giordano offers study courses with the aim of strengthening the network with local businesses and preparing young people to play an active and conscious role in the society. The school is located in Piazzale Rodari, close to via Planelli (the road that leads to the Bari-Palese airport). We offer several day courses and two evening courses all con-cerning the following areas:

    - Administration, Finance and Marketing

    - Information Systems

    - Tourism

Our school has 32 classrooms all cabled and equipped with interactive whiteboards for smart working activities. In addition, recently two classrooms have been com-pletely renovated. They are provided with the latest generation desks, excellent for group work, a maxi digital screen, and iPads. Furthermore, there is an auditorium with a capacity of 400 people, which is equipped with a high quality video projector. The auditorium also has a big stage where we re-hearse and perform the plays of our school theatre. We often use it for conferences and videos-conferences open to the territory, and multimedia laboratories (computer, language, science, maths, business administration). We do have also a li-brary with 2,000 volumes, including several magazines, an outdoor and an indoor Olympic-sized gymnasium, a large teaching room and suitable rooms for various sec-retarial offices. Our Institute is a test center to train and achieve the European ECDL AICA: a com-puter license on the use of individual productivity software at the basic level; for the Adobe Certified Associate ACA certification of digital communication Pho-toshop, Dreamweaver and Flash; for the MOS Microsoft Office Specialist certification on the use of software individual productivity at an advanced level ITES “V.Giordano” trains its students for a profitable integration in the labour mar-ket, particularly for the secondary and tertiary sector or support the most motivated students to continue university studies. We want our school to be open to the cultural and economic challenges of modern societies and widen the European dimension of our students’ view all along their cul-tural growth. In so doing we are bound to promote integration without discrimination while focusing our intervention in favour of the students in need, those who would be otherwise, excluded or forced to drop school.

As for the methodological and didactic innovations, our school is particularly efficient by applying in its curriculum the most cutting edge strategies and approaches.

The main elements of this innovations are:

    1) Flipped classroom

    2) The educational avant-garde didactics for scenarios:

Didactics by scenarios» is an approach that aims to introduce into daily practice student-centred educational activities by making use of the potential offered by ICT.

    3) The educational avant-garde: The Debate

Since 2014, the school has been taking part in many Erasmus+ projects. We see participation in the projects as excellent and innovative ways of learning, meeting peers and getting to know other cultures with the active engagement of both students and teachers. Initially the staff interested in the participation of Erasmus pro-jects was made up of a small number of teachers graduated in modern languages and in science with a strong preparation in the technological field.
