Pencils pierce plastic bag with water! The bag of water that not flow.
Goal of the experiment: Observing elasticity of the plastic bag.
Materials needed:A zip-loc bag, pencils sharp at the top, water
Steps of the experiment:
1. The bag is filled halfway with water.
2. Seal the bag
3. insertion through a firm and fast movement through walls of a sharp pencil through the bag containing water.
4. Observe and discuss the phenomenon result.
Plastic bags are made from polymers (chains of molecules flexible bag which give elasticity). You move the pen through it tightens around the elastic plastic pencil, sealing bag all around the pencil, letting the water run.
