An acrobat clown

  • Name for the experiment: An acrobat clown

Name for the experiment: An acrobat clown

Goal of the experiment: The explanation to the understanding of children's physical phenomenon as an object which keeps the balance under certain conditions (depending on the center of gravity).

Materials: a paper clown , two small coins ,a string

Steps of the experiment:Make a paper clown, as you see in the picture. Glue the two coins at hand’s bottom. Lay the clown with the chin on the stretched rope, with the rope passing through the clown’s hands.

What happens? The clown does not tip over. You can let it bounce on the rope. This is possible because the center of gravity lies below the rope, at his hands level.
