  • Europea Day of Languages- Srednja škola BOL, Croatia

On Thursday ( 26th September) we celebrated rich linguistic and cultural diversity of Europe, supported by our Erasmus+ partners from Finland, Poland, Italy, Greece and Germany.

We started the program with greetings in 6 languages ( Hello, Hei, Hallo, Buongiorno, Herete and Zdravo) and reciting one part of the Italian song Parole, Parole. After introducing our students to what European Day of languages really is, our two students sang a very popular Croatian song Ti si moj san zvijezdo daleka.

Then, we watched a video our students made adapting the topic of Macbeth to a typical political situation on the island of Brač.

Our Finnish and Polish partners prepared some tongue twisters in their mother tongues and we had a lot of fun trying to repeat them.

Latin isn't our cup of tea, but we had fun with a Latin joke.

Two Croatian students recited a poem Ti koja imaš nevinije ruke ( You with more innocent hands) and German partners performed a poem from Goethe's Zauberlehrling.  Italian partners sang a song Bella ciao ( referring to justice and freedom) and Greek partner recited a poem Ithaka by C.P.Cavafy, wishing us all to find our Ithaka.

One of the most famous dialogues ever, the balcony scene from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet was performed by two Croatian students. Croatian students also prepared a small talk in Italian.

The program finished by a song in Croatian from Aladdin and we all enjoyed it!
