ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEMS

  • We are aware that there are some environmental problems in our local surroundings.

If we want to learn outside, we need to have clean and safe environment therefore we went on the walk to explore pollution problems in our towns, places and local comunities.

We have taken a few photos showing examples of environmental pollution and we want to draw attention to this problem.

Of course, after taking the photos, we picked up the garbage and threw it in the container.

Here Are the photos that pupils and teachers took:

We live in a beautiful city but we noticed a lot of rubbish in different natural surroundings. Our students are aware of this problem and try to reduce, recycle and reuse.

Here are examples of environmental problems that our students find:

    The Czech Republic

Every year we help our nature during the event called "Clean up our village". This year, more than 50 pupils from our school helped to clean up the village from rubbish, which was unfortunately left or thrown away by irresponsible citizens in our nearest surroundings. In our school we strive to promote a responsible approach to nature and environment among our students, we often discuss these environmental problems with our pupils and lead them to responsibility and to the protection of our beautiful nature.

Tree planting and discussion with forester about the bark beetle calamity

In the Czech Republic, we have a big problem with spruces dying in recent years. The main reason is climate change, especially rising temperatures and greater drought, which has led to an overgrowth of the spruce bark beetle in our forests. Unfortunately, humans are also responsible for this calamity, not only by releasing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, but in the case of bark beetles by planting spruces in places where they did not grow naturally. In our immediate vicinity, in the Beskydy Mountains, unfortunately, the infested trees also had to be cut down in large numbers and removed from the forest, which led to a rising amount of clearings that need to be gradually afforested. We often talk about the problem of the bark beetle calamity with the pupils at school, and the pupils also hold discussions with foresters in the forest, where they help to plant a new generation of trees.
