Gardening Workshop in Slovakia
Slovakia divided our project gardening activities into 3 parts: working in a school garden, nicer school environment, nicer green classroom - benefits of plants.
This photo is from part 1 when pupils were working in a school garden making the strawberry beds in a pyramid.
The smallest kids were working outside planting some flowers during their afternoon club.
As part of the first activity, the green surroundings of the school, students in the school club with the educators they made more beautiful the surroundings of the buildings, where the smallest children are taught. They planted there rock gardens. You could also read about their activity on school FB page. We believe that the sight of a growing rock will put a smile on our faces and motivates to further work in the garden or planting. Older students planted peonies during Technology classes, rhododendrons or lavender, which ones, after years, will create a blooming beauty in the area of our main school building. They also planted herbs, created an herb spiral, but also a strawberry pyramid. We also supplied shrubs with currants and blueberries to the garden. As part of the green interior which we wanted to make more beautiful, the 7A pupils repotted old plants, added new soil to them and got them in the classroom into new pots, they decorated their classroom with mostly succulents. During Art classes, they talked about interior style called Urban Jungle and thought about using plants for better living. Thank you for the cooperation to teachers of Technology classses and to our school club educators, too.
