    The activity took place in a school area and form teacher Jarmila decided to offer some hot tea and gingerbread to the pupils. It was a nice experience because it is quite unusual to read outside in December. Outdoor Hygge Moment.

    READING OUTDOORS no2 AUTUMN 21 - SLOVAKIA

    As part of the free time reading activity, our class 4.A deals with a book by Vincent Šikula called Holidays with Uncle Rafael. As part of the Erasmus + LO-VE project, they decided again that the reading will take place outside, in the school garden, where the gazebo has been moved and the environment is more pleasant – the nearby flower garden makes everybody feel better.

    Pupils get to know the main character Vincent - a nice and hard-working boy who suffers in some way because he has to do activities that his friends do not do. This is why he loses games with friends. Some children even make fun of him. However, Vinco does not lose his sense of humor and can oppose them humorously and intelligently.

    In this way, students also indirectly learn how their peers lived decades ago, when there were no televisions, no mobile phones or even no computers. Were their desires and dreams different from the desires and dreams of today's children? Our students' parents might be able to tell us more and hopefully they told their children about it more at home.

    Pupils from 7th grade were reading outdoors during their Czech literature lesson. They were reading on the lawn, on benches, on the old trunk and in the gazebo.

    SLOVAKIA

    Thanks to our LO-VE project supported by the programme Erasmus+ we experienced the Outdoor reading and we decided to continue with it. Reading in maternity tongue was the 1st one to start.
    The 2nd outdoor reading was also in Slovak, but not in a winter time, but at the beginning of the school year. The next outdoor reading activities were held in spring and we ordered the English books with short stories to be able to read them during English classes with 5th, 6th or 7th Graders.

    SLOVAKIA - reading outdoors in English

    We started to use Short Stories Books in our English classes where there is a story on one page and on another page there are exercices. The stories are interesting and we practise correct reading loudly in a foreign language and then we extend our English vocabulary related to different topic. Today we worked with summer clothes and accessories vocabulary with the 5th Graders. Last time with the 6th Graders we worked with the topic of Shopping.
