St Ex: Presenting the SDGs in class

  • In my 'classe européenne' ( a specialist group of English students), we have been working closely on the U.N SDGs. First, I, the teacher, présented the general context, the 17 goals, with a study of some videos from the U.N website and from the 'World's Largest Lesson' site.

Students then had to work in groups. The instructions were to choose a goal, and to research it with the objective a making a 5 minute oral presentation to the class. Students were asked to present the goal, the difficulties today, analysing at least one graphic (they also study economics and are good at graphs), then suggest possible solutions, both globally and - maybe more importantly - locally. All this with as much interaction as possible with their audience.

As their teacher, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the students' work, the level of thought put into the process, the way in which they all seem to comprehend the situation and the objectives

From Gender Equality, to No Poverty, from Life on Land to Affordable Energy, from Sustainable Cities to Zero Hunger... so many important issues tackled so well.

    WOW!

And here is a quiz / test I gave to the students.
