Arriving in OULU !

At the end of a very long and tiring trip of almost 24 hours, we finally arrived in the evening of Wednesday second of october in Oulu, Finnish city situated on the East-North Coast of the Botnie’s Gulf.

Well-welcomed by our host families, we are, with little steps, getting used to the Finnish way of life, very different from the one we know. The first cultural shock has logically been the extremely cold temperature  : on the arrival day, only 2 small degrees were waiting for us. Nevertheless, the worst is still coming, from what we have been hearing... 

A busy planning is organized for us. The program : visit of Oulu and of the Highschool, little interventions in classes in order to present Reunion Island, and an interview with a journalist. Without speaking of family outing.

When it comes to talk about food, the number of meals surprised us all : 4 meals a day, plus snacks, coffee breaks, teabreaks, hot chocolate breaks… (Maybe we are a little bit overstating.) Fortunately, the meals are good !!! 

Let’s say that, for the moment, we are very happy how our travel is being handed and we’re looking forward to living more adventures.
