Bifrost förskola April

  • Cultivation and Lithuania visit.
The children take care of their farms. They water them and make sure they get sunlight. Some plants grow more than others. Because our groups look different, the plants have been grown in different places and in different rooms at the preschool. This has been a learning opportunity for the children to be able to see in real life what happens to plants when they get too much or too little sunlight or water. Just right is best as we can see when our plants began to grow.
During our Lithuania visit we got to see how the children in the preschool work with bees. A beekeeper came to visit and showed a bee and bee's various bi-products such as wax and honey.
Before the beekeeper came into the classroom, the kids had a danceshow for us. The children danced folkdance and after a while we got to learn some dances. After that, they had various creation- and mathtasks with bees as theme. A lot fun and inspiring ideas for our own work with the children in just one and a half hour.

During the visit, we also got to try baking bread in an old-fashioned way, making wax candles, visiting the forest / park with the children and decorating eggs with paint and wax.

At most preschools / schools we visited, we were impressed by the children's artwork. They used many different creative techniques and materials. The children's performances in rhythm were also very nice and impressive.
