On 23th September 2019, pupils from Aurelio Gómez Escolar School conducted a workshop to analyse pH and density of must and wine in the laboratory of Analytical Chemistry of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Burgos. The concepts of pH and density of mixtures were introduced to these pupils from the second year of secondary education (12-13 year-olds). Experiments to determine pH of several samples, which included must and white and red wine were carried out. In addition, the density of water-alcohol and water-sugar mixtures was also determined by using alcoholmeters and densimeters.
