Art Workshop

  • Within the art workshop there is: Hannah, Juliana, Caro, Margaux, Sam, Annabel, Ariane, Julia, Rocío, Pien and Tara.

The group was inspired by the US activist Rob Greenfield. He visualizes our polluting habits, which we don't notice in our every day life. He collected his daily rubbish for months and carried it on his body everywhere he went. So they decided to work with waste and rubbish and collected it.

They followed Picasso's idea “I don't search, I find.” for our art work and created the title “Found in Hattingen”.

Together as a group, they went to the forest and collected natural objects, like branches, sticks and some bark in order to create little trees during the week. In groups of two to three people, the students formed and constructed blossoms, leaves and flowers out of the rubbish, which they put on their trees in order to create a new context: nature and plastic in one piece.

Caro and Margaux are making a tree using leaves, moss and bark that they collected themselves in the forest.

Sam is using a branch and then attaching smaller sticks to it and he will then use some plastic bags as leaves.

Hannah, Julianna and Ariane are making a flower using branches.

Some photos showing the progression of their trees:
