Media education: From passive consumers to active creators

The project aims at implementing media education at the secondary schools of five European countries while using hands-on approach as the main teaching method. Students will learn how to use simple media production technologies and techniques by creating media outputs in the form of videos, a joint newspaper, a website and counter advertisements on...

Counter-advertising is a great way to expose deceptive and harmful messages in advertising and to express our point of view about a specific issue by using the same persuasion techniques as real ads. As alcohol advertising presents drinking as a positive activity and avoids any reference to its negative consequences in order to increase the sales of alcoholic drinks, we invite you to create your own print counter-ad about alcohol to convey the truth about alcohol consumption. Students from AECasquilhos show you how it can be done. Have a look at the counter-ads they've created!

Great job, right? Well, now it's your turn to create your own counter-ad.
