Our school each year takes part in World Clean Up project - we pick up rubbish in our town in the neighboring area of our school, we collect food, blankets and bowls for animal shelter, we collect waste batteries and plastic bottle caps. Occasionally we collect acorns and chestnuts in cooperation with National Forestry to feed wild animals during winters.

During the project we organized the Earth Day - the teachers ran a set of lessons in each grade on ecological issues and despite distance learning students individually (with their families) took part in cleaning their nearest area. We organized the ecological competition for films presenting students' personal input into environmental protection.

Before the pandemic we organized Health Days when different healthy snacks anddifferent kinds of fresh juice were prepared by classes and sold at school. We organized educational trips to Cieszyn Wastewater Plant where students learned the process of waste water purification.

Thanks to Erasmus+ project the garden for young learners was created where each class has got it's own bed - students sow the seeds, plant flowers, and take care of them. They learn the stages of growth of plants and can observe different plants' develpment during their lifetime. They can feel responsible for and enjoy their own crops. They have all necessary equipment to grow plants.

There was also a rainwater tank installed to teach students to save water and to emphasize the necessity and importance of rainwater collection whenever it's possible.

This year we also organized electro rubbish collection.

Now we are planning to buy a set of segragated waste bins for school and to create a wild flower meadow with houses for insects. It will be a unique enterprise in the scale of our town which will be used to promote "The Key to Sustainable Future" project in the future. When it is ready we will advertise it and create a set of activities connected with it - art competitions and ecological knowledge competitions for primary schools and nurseries. We will adcertise its ecological qualities such as abundance of plant and animal species, several times larger than a lawn retaining rainwater in the ground thanks to an extensive root system and no need to mow.

In school year 2019/2020 our Erasmus+ group of students decided to make use of school radio and we introduced "Eco News". Each week we prapared on short info (about 3 minutes) from the world of environmental protection. The new were published also at school facebook and school websites wher students could find a number of links to find out more about the topic.

Eco News was always presented by students from Erasmus+ extra classes group who were strongly devoted to ecological protection. Unfotunatelly the pandemic suddenly stopped this action...
