    HEALTHY CLASS PARTIES

Since we started our project events in autumn 2018

year 2 (year 3 in 2019-2020) decided to have all their class parties with healthy food and healthy snacks only. First, it was a bit confusing, because they were used to have a lot of sweets, biscuits and cakes and big bottles of lemonade or Coke.
After having a lesson about HEALTHY FOOD and studying the poster and exhibition about SUGAR prepared by Year-5 and Year-6 students in the school canteen, they had a lesson with discussion about the bad influence of sugar on their health.

Before their Christmas party their home assignment was to discuss healthy foods and food recipies with their parents and everyone had a task to bring healthy snacks to the party.

They brought healthy snacks they had prepared themselves or with the help of their parents and the recipies of home made healthy cookies, salads, etc.

They go on with healthy snacks at parties this year, too :)

Here are the photos of the snacks:

    ACTIVITIES

Poster made by Year-5 and Year-6 student in October 2018 after watcing a video about the influence of the use of sugar on our health and discussing the topic in their English lessons during one week.

In addition to the poster the students from Year 5, Year 6, Year 7 prepared an educative exhibition. They calculated the amount of sugar in the most popular sweet drinks and foods and the results were stunning. They couldn't believe their eyes when they had finished the calculations and set a little sachet of sugar containing exactly the amount of sugar next to the product. The calculations and weighing of sugar was carried out in Health Science lessons in October 2018.
