Slovenia

  • The students at subsidiary school in Dražgoše kept a daily record of the weather during the winter months of December, January and February. The thermometer was placed on the outside wall of the school canteen, so that it was accessible to all students. We have 12 students in five grades at the school. Two students took temperature measurements each day.
The temperature reading were taken at 8 am in the morning and then at 12 noon. The measurement results were recorded in the table with pictograms corresponding to the weather conditions.
After three months of measurement, we looked at the tables with measured temperatures and weather signs. We focused on for the highest, lowest temperatures, the number of days with precipitation, the number of sunny days…. The results obtained were compared with the Slovenian average. We found that this winter was warmer than usual and there was much less snowfall.
During the work the students worked together. They learned how to observe and record measurements accurately.

    And some photos.
