  • The Istituto comprensivo Augusto Scocchera includes three pre-primary schools (one Montessori school), three primary schools (one Montessori primary school) and one secondary school (10-14age) with 908 learners and total number of staff 136 (including secretary staff) Our schools are all located in the town Ancona up the hill facing the Adriatic sea. Schools areas of specific expertise are: schools with Montessori methods, new approaches (such as the so called global curriculum approach GCA) based on improving and promoting the autonomy and responsibilites in our learners to give them the ownwership of learning. The school has developed many networking projects focused on graduating and updated competences in an integrated curriculum. Weve been working in a project called Theatres of Science a networking project based on the direct experience, cooperative learning and cooperation among teachers and learners of the four provinces of our region. All the works are monitored by a professor/expert with scientific competences. Learners are involved in theatre and music laboratories carried out by experts. A school choir are well - known and partecipates each year in a National competition. We took part in a Comenius project called Europe in loan several years ago and some classes are currently involved in several etwinning projects. The school is experienced in eTwinning projects: this year we are engaged in different project whose topics are Food and Nature. In eTwinning platform we follow events and seminaries too. Our expertise are: - Montessori method and a global curriculum approach (GCA) based on improving and promoting the autonomy and responsibilities at our learners to give them the ownership of learning and respect the diversity through working in group or in pair. The modality refers to learn to learn competence.
