ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION:
MAY 2020
ID: P16
PARALLEL STAGE: Participating pupils learn about the importance of food and feasting in cultural heritage. Emphasis is given on recognising the history of the food we eat today. Teachers ask pupils to talk to their parents and bring to school traditional recipes, updated versions of traditional recipes, or new recipes that use traditional ingredients. Pupils themselves are responsible for writing a short description of their parents’ recipes.
INTERACTION STAGE: Teachers assist pupils in translating their recipes, adding pictures, and combining them together in a cookbook from all six partners.
FOLLOW-UP: In the follow-up stage, the cookbook is disseminated on project and school media. A small number of copies is printed for school libraries and for donations to local organisations. Depending on the printing cost, more copies may be printed and sold at project events, with the proceeds going to charity.
