DESIGN STAMPS AND MONEY

  • ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION:

    NOVEMBER 2019

    ID: P11

This activity is designed as a follow-up to the activities OUR NATURAL HERITAGE (P9) and NATURE IN OUR CULTURE (P10). However, the activity does not need to be implemented by the same group of students who participated in P9 and P10.

PARALLEL STAGE: Having shared presentations on natural heritage and cultural works that feature nature, this activity invites pupils to digitally design stamps and banknotes that showcase an element of natural heritage from another country. Considering that digital art is quite an advanced skill, the designs may focus on simple collages in a software like Publisher. Teachers provide ready templates and assistance in finding, scanning and cropping pictures.

INTERACTION FOLLOW-UP STAGES: In the interactive and follow-up stages, pupils share their designs with their peers, whose findings they have used. Stamps are printed and used in greeting cards sent during LTTs. Banknotes are also printed and used in the EUROPEAN MONOPOLY activity, also during C5.
