ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION:
February 2019
ID: P7
PARALLEL STAGE: Pupils learn about their country’s traditional musical instruments during their music lessons or a relevant extracurricular club. If possible, the physical instruments are brought to school to facilitate children’s interaction with them. Emphasis is given on discovering each instrument's sound in both traditional and contemporary music.
INTERACTION STAGE: The group of participating pupils in each country creates an online matching game between the picture and sound of each instrument. The matching game is shared between partners and through a link on TwinSpace. Teachers guide pupils in comparing different countries’ instruments and finding commonalities between their design and sound.
FOLLOW-UP: The TRADITIONAL SONGS activity (P24) serves as follow-up to this activity.
