SCHOOL TRIP TO A CULTURAL HERITAGE SITE

  • SCHOOL TRIP TO A CULTURAL HERITAGE SITE

    June 2019

    ID: P23

This activity is planned for June 2019, but each school can organize it at any time. It can be combined with already planned school trips.

Depending on each school’s location and timetabling needs, at least two of these trips will be arranged in each partner country at different times in the project. Possible sites to visit include archaeological or historical sites, monuments or buildings of cultural significance. Teachers also show pupils digital renderings or tours of the sites, if available. If tablets are available at the school, they are taken on the trip and used to take pictures that will later be used in photo-essays. As a follow-up, pupils engage in activities that ask them to make connections between the visited site, their own lives in the present, and the future. For older pupils, the activity could be a piece of writing on how they would cope with living in that place. For younger pupils, it could be a drawing of that place that includes modern amenities.

Polish Pupils visit the Puppet Theatre

On 14th May 2019, a trip to the Puppet Theatre in Białystok took place. It was attended by students from class IV b and IV c together with their teachers - Mrs Alicja Krystosiuk, Mrs Agnieszka Jankowska and Mrs Katarzyna  Trzyna. The main purpose of the trip was a performance titled "Aladdin's wonderful lamp" in the Puppet Theatre. The actors' relationship with the animation of dolls was showned in an attractive way. As a result, the performance was loudly applaused by the young audience.

What is more, pupils attended a theatre workshop, and then had a tour of the theatre and its mysterious hinterland. During the trip, the children visited the foyer, the auditorium, the stage, the dressing room and the make-up room.  The infrastructure of the theater turned out to be great as well, it turned out that theatre employees were meeting and answering the question: who is working in the theatre?

There was also a visit to Parrtor House. The birds were very friendly and delicate, they were a little interested in buttons on clothes. The children were very interested in getting to know other inhabitants of Parrort House .

The trip was the proverbial hit, because it brought a lot of excitement, laughter and positive mood.

    Follow-up activity

For us theatre is fun! - May 19, 2019.

After the visit to the theatre the group of pupils associated with the Polish Club led by Mrs. Bogusława Niewińska started the puppet project. Pupils created their own  puppets. There were colorful puppets made of sticks, rags, threads, paper and wooden spoons. The puppets refer to the script written by Ola Gudwańska "Greek stories" about well-known figures from myths. Preparations to the performance took a lot of commitment: Bartek prepared the soundtrack, and Szymon wrote subtitles. The most attempts were made by puppet stage performances. Eventually, the play was ready and done on the stage. There was no boredom! A lot of fun and good humour were given to both actors and young spectators watching the play.

Taking part in the performance gave the students a lot of satisfaction, sharpened the sense of observation, what is more, they explored the culture of speaking and discovered details how the play in the theatre is created.
