    PARALLEL STAGE: This is a week-long activity to celebrate the International Museum Day, on Saturday, 18 May 2019. Emphasis is given to digital resources: exploring the websites of famous European museums, playing games in their children’s sections, and taking digital tours. Depending on curriculum needs and local availability, schools may incorporate a lesson on the significance of museums and a visit to a local museum.

    INTERACTION STAGE/ FOLLOW-UP: The interactive and follow-up components to this activity are implemented during the autumn LTT (C4) in Lithuania, where the participating pupils construct a digital museum that preserves artefacts and knowledge from all project activities for future generations of pupils.

     

    Don't forget to also visit our project's DIGITAL MUSEUM, created in October 2019  during our pupil exchange in Lithuania. 

     

    CYPRUS - THE ERASMUS CLUB CELEBRATES MUSEUM DAY

    Members of our Erasmus+ club initiated the Museum Day celeberations with a visit to the Leventis Gallery in Nicosia. Students took part in an interactive tour of the museum called "Travels around Europe". Their game-like tour involved a treasure hunt around the museum's galleries to discover European history through famous works fo art. Vlad Dracula, the Romanian mascot, made sure to eliminate any obstacles they found in their mission!

    Subsequent activities at school included reseraching tehir discoveries online and finding other works by the same artists or from teh same periods housed in different museums around Europe. 

     

    POLAND -  eTwinning Club celebrates the Museum Day

    Members of our eTwinning club initiated the Museum Day celeberations with a virtual visit to the  Warsaw Uprising Museum. The Warsaw Uprising Museum, in the Wola district of Warsaw, Poland, is dedicated to the Warsaw Uprising of 1944. The institution of the museum was established in 1983.

    Students took part in an interactive tour of the museum called 'The Young Heroes of 20's century'. Their task was to find out about young heroes, young boys and girls mostly scouts, who fought in Warsaw Uprising in 1944.  

     

    SPAIN: Museum Day

    In May, 60 students from 4t degree primary school visited two important museums in Valencia. One of them has been the History Museum and another Science museum. Both museums have carried out a wide variety of activities to reinforce the concepts learned. It has been a wonderful day of learning and fun.
