NOV-FEB 2018 - Articles 1-5

  • Main theme will be freedom and equality. Students will make a declaration of what is freedom and equality and what can prevent
    people from benefit from this. They will deal with questions as: What does it mean to have a freedom and use it so it may be beneficial for everyone?
    Does people from minority groups have the same freedom as other citizens? What kind of freedom do refugees have? Students will also work on,
    and try to declare, duties that every person must take as a responsible citizen.
    -We are going to visit the Greek Parliament. Pupils can participate in experiential educational activities on the issue of Democracy.
    -Greek students will have studied before about the tolerance towards disabled people and they’ll have prepared a presentation for their Rights and
    the Paralympics’ Games. During the LTT in Greece, we are going to invite an Olympian of Paralympics to our school to have a conversation with the
    pupils.
    - The previous term there will have been organized, with the help of UN High Commissioner for Refugees, educational actions to raise pupils'
    awareness of tolerance and acceptance of the "others' " human rights, the fight against xenophobia e.t.c. They’ll become aware of the rights of the
    children (UNICEF) and the journey and dreams of unaccompanied refugees as well. During the LTT we are going to organize a peer-learning
    workshop where pupils in mixed groups will create animations or small play-roles or collaborative art works depending on their preferences.
    The main theme of this term (freedom and equality) is going to be related to the normal activities of the involved schools since all schools have the
    lesson of Social and Civil education in the school’s curriculum.


    -Before the LTT, during the term all students will be sensitized on the same issues and all partner schools will have access to the educational
    material of the digital platform http://www.youthforhumanrights.org/educators/human-rights-curriculum.html as a common reference. They will write
    small essays, make posters and exhibitions. This work is going to be prepared during the curriculum lessons so as to involve as many students as
    possible. There wll also be organized regular meetings (2h/week) with Erasmus team students for studying more thoroughly and completing their
    scheduled projects. Pupils will express their opinion through forums, queries via eTwinning platform.
    -The participants (5 of every school) will represent their classmates during LTT.
