    POLISH  DIARY

    DIARY ENTRY 1

    DAY 1

    “After not that long flight and journey from Helsinki to Lahti I finally met my host personally. My New friend and her mom took me for a meal to the Finnish fast-food Hesburger, we went shopping for some traditional snacks (for me). The house where I lived was really Finnish- red with white roof and the sauna in a cellar.”- WERONIKA K.

    “We FINALLY went to Finland!!!!! (couldn't sleep whole week before it because of excitement). I was so happy to meet my amazing host family <3. The only thing I did not like is
    the early hour of flight I was so fatigued.”-NATALIA

     

    “I was so excited and nervous to finally meet my host and her family. The long trip felt like eternity and made me even more eager to start our exchange program. At the evening we decided to play Mario Party to tighten the bond”-KLAUDIA

     

    DAY 2

    “First day in school! Activities with people from other countries and meeting new friends! We visited city hall and took part in hare and hounds . After „school time”  my hosts took me to the cafe in the harbour and for a walk.”-WERONIKA K.

    “We went to Finnish school for the first time. We did our presentations, learned about education systems in other countries and received warm hoodies. Later we went for a walk around Lahti. Lilli and I went to buy some  Finnish sweets and ate some tasty burgers.”-KLAUDIA


    “I was excited about meeting other participants. I loved all presentations and "speed dating". That gave us an opportunity to meet students from other countries. I also ate the best cinnamon rolls in my life. It made my day even nicer.”-NATALIA

    “The day was pretty fun. I drank tea from my kuksa and making new friends. In the afternoon my host took me to youth council meeting. I told a bit about myself and answered some questions from other participants.”-FILIP

    DAY 3

    Equality day. It was really interesting to learn about  development of rights in Finland. Afterwards we had group project witch’s agenda was creating our own list of rights for the Young Europeans. We also had an opportunity of sightseeing the Kannas High School. Later that day we went bowling with other students.
    That was so much fun ^-^ !-WERONIKA K.

    “In the morning we had a discussion and a panel about rights and tolerance. After the dinner we went bowling together.”-NATALIA

    “I was one of the speakers in the panel. It was an interesting new experience. Later we were suppose to write new useful claims  to charter on human rights. Later we went to the sushi place and even later we went bowling. It was so much fun.”-KLAUDIA

    DAY 4

    “Sightseeing and activities in the capital- Helsinki! National museum was a brilliant place with interactive exhibitions and interesting stories helped me to learn about the history of Finland. We bought so many Moomin stuff and the souvenirs for everybody in Poland. In the spare time most of us divided into smaller groups and visited different (mostly art) museums. Also we went to the biggest and most modern  library I have ever seen.”-EVERYBODY BUT IN DIFFERENT WAYS :D

    DAY 5

    “That day we visited one more place in Lahti- One-Stop Guidance Centre. We also started our work with the film, based on the survey we’d done some time earlier. After it I spent a great evening in Spa with my host and her mum and ate a great burgers in BusBurger.”-WERONIKA K.

     

    “The day was kind of mediocre at the start but in the afternoon we went to a hockey match. Pelicans won 6-0 with HIFK Helsinki. It was amazing and gave us a thrill.”-KLAUDIA

    “Today we went to a hockey match for the first time. IT WAS AMAZING. GO PELICANS, GO!”- NATALIA

    DAY 6

    “On our last full day in Lahti we went to Ohjaamo Centre today. In the afternoon we finished our main movie projects that we watched at the farewell party. We danced, chitchatted and made fun with all of our new friends.”-KLAUDIA

    “The last day of our activities. We visited an education Centre for people with special Leeds- Kaarisilta and after it we finished working in our groups and started preparation for the Erasmus Party. It was great! A lot of fun, laugh and dance. Despite the fact I was leaving tomorrow, I was really happy because I met all these people!”-WERONIKA K.

    “The last day in Finland. I am so glad that I had an opportunity to meet all of those amazing people. The Party at the end was heart-warming. We got to hang out with all those friendly people and it definitely moved me a lot :-NATALIA

    THE END :,(

    Depression and sadness ruled among us. The tension was so hight it was almost visible. We cried a lot this day but we were trying to remind ourselves that we are going to see some of those people again in November. We are waiting for you guys!

    CZECH DIARY

    Monday (18.3.)

                    We started the day by a welcoming ceremony (We did this in a diffrent school for organization reasons ). After the welcoming ceremony we had a few presenations about education systems in diffrent countries to listen to. After that we played a game so that we get to know each othe. Then we had lunch and went to the city hall. As the last activity of the  day we did the "Amazing race". When that was done we had the rest of the day to spent with the families

     

    Tuesday(19.3)

                    In the morning one of us had to speak to the school radio about the project(I happened to be that guy). After this we had some more presentations and a panel discussion. When we finished the lunch we went to the Multicultural center and listened to some more presentations. After that we had a free time for the rest of the day to spent with the families.

     

    Wednesday(20.3):  

                    We had to get up earlier bcs the bus was leaving the school and going to helsinki at 8 o'clock. When we arrived to Helsinki we could see their sights and then we went to their national museum to see the treasures of Finland. After the museum we had 3 hours of free time so we could go eat something or just walk through the city or just do almost everything what we wanted. After the free time we went to Helsinki central library and we had to do some tasks, for example find a czech book. After that we went back to Lahti and arrived at 17 o'clock. We had a free evening so we went out with friends.

     

    Thurday (21.3.)

    Early in the morning, we visited The One -Stop Guidance Center in Lahti and we had a presentation abouth support program.

    At 11:30 we had lunch at school after lunch we started our Project Work: Immigration Survey.

    At 14 O'clock we had a little "break" ad after that we continues in Project.

    At 15:15 we end our work for this day anf we can spend our free time with hosts.

     

    Friday(22.3)

                    We started the day by taking a bus to the Kaarisilta (Education center for special needs youngsters).We listened to music show put together by the local students and after we did a small tour around the facility. Then we took a bus back to school where we worked on finishing the project. When the project was done we had some free time to spent with our Finisih partners and then we went back to shool for a Farewell party. The event ended sometimes around 9 pm. This was the last activity of the event. Next day we went back to Helsinky where we all boarded a plane that took us back to Czech republic.
