    FINNISH DIARY

    DIARY ENTRY 1

I didn’t visit Greek before. I was so exciting for this travel. I spoke much with my host. He is amazing person. We spoke like what we do our free time, family and school things.

Before I left I saw my friends and family and packed my baggage. Because us flight started like so early I need to wake up 2 AM. We need to go airport for tax. I am so tired but I didn’t can sleep.

One day we went to Nafplio. In Nafplio we went to eat burger with others eRasmus+ persons. I like that food. We wanted rent bikes and ride bikes. But we didn’t can because we are under 18. So we went shop. And we went see sundown. I like much this day.

I got new friends. My hostfamily said if I want I can go back for their home. Now me and others Finnish girls how went Greek with me are close and good friends.

I learnt much about myself. I don’t anymore fear speak English. I don’t have best English but that isn’t problem anymore for me.

Best thing is my new friends and new experience. Now I have friends how doesn’t lives in Finland.

    DIARY ENTRY 2

This wasn’t my first time in Greece but I was excited to go there again. I find Greece to be really interesting country so I thought it was great to be able to go there. I wanted to get new friends and experiences, and that’s mostly the reason why I signed up for this project.

I started packing for the trip pretty early and I wanted to be all set up and ready to go. I bought the present for my host and I started to get ready to go. I barely slept before leaving my house before the flights, but the flights went fine anyways. On the first flight I slept, and there was a proposal. It was pretty lame, and I never heard the female say “Yes”, so good luck to them?

The first two days we spent at the school. We had ice breaking activities and we visited the city hall. On two other days we had trips and we went around the South-Greece. On the last day before left to Athens we did a lot of different activities. Then we left to Athens and I was in the same room with Janna and Aava. We had a lot of fun in there.

I didn’t really get friends from any other countries but from the Finnish group I did. We’re still on touch with them and I really like hanging out with them. The trip made us get closer a lot.

I learned a lot about the ancient Greece and the history of acting, and how people used to heal others with joy and the thought of Gods.

The best day was when we went to the fishman’s city where we had a free afternoon. We bought lot of stuff and ate good food. Greece food was extremely amazing and tasted really good.

Overall the trip was very nice and I would definitely do it again!

    DIARY ENTRY 3

I had never been in Greece before so this trip was exiting for me, I didn't really have any kind of expectations, I was just happy that I got the change to finally travel. Our days were long but we had so much fun that it didn't matter, we went to many museums and explored around Tripoli. I met a lot of new people and even got couple new friends. I learned how different cultures actually are and how much a normal shy finnish person differ from a normal not so shy greek person. Best thing about my trip was obviously the people I met, new friends and host family. I felt that i can be myself around my new friends.

Thank you Greece! you were absolutely wonderful.

    DIARY ENTRY 4

I have been to Greece once before, so I was expectating it to be warm and very different from Finland. I prepared for the trip by searching information and pictures about Tripoli. I also talked with my host beforehand.

In Greece we followed the Greek students’ music lessons, made a song for the Erasmus+ -project, made groupwork and visited the town hall of Tripoli. We also saw sights that were amazing, for example we saw Acropolis. In the evenings we spent time with our hosts and other exchange students. We ate in restaurants and cafes. We went shopping and just wandered around Tripoli. I liked seeing sights and walking around Tripoli. I also really liked the food in Greece and the people were so nice and welcoming.

I got some new friends and I’m happy about it. I learned more about the Greek culture and their lifestyle. I also learned a little bit of the Greek language. They also told us about Greece’s history and taught us to dance. I learned to be more independent and how to communicate with different kinds of people.

The best thing about the trip was the experiences that I will never forget. Of course I also liked the sights, the food and the music. The weather was also very nice.

    DIARY ENTRY 5

I had been to Greece ones before as a child but I really didn´t have any expetations for the trip.

I prepared by packing everything I though could be nesecary and by reading about the place a bit. Later during the week we studied more about the sights and country.

Days were long and tiring but we had fun as well. It was nice to be with the group and hang around town even if sometimes we would get home at 11-12 which meant we were very sleepy and tired the next day. It´s understantable that in different cultures things are done differently but it would´ve been nice to at least to tell us that we will be out for that long.

I got few new friends that I still keep intouch with. People were nice and interesting and I´m happy that I got to meet them. It was nice that we had time to talk about more "serious" things in the breaks so we actually got to have good converstations and share opinions.

I learned new things about the culture and people. It was interesting to hear about their history. I also learned that I become were annoyed when tired. To me it was also interesting to see and learn about other cultures and how much they change our behaviour. It would´ve been interesting to also hear adults opinions on somethings I talked about with just the youngster but then again that way I got to hear opinions from around Europe.

I think the best thing about the trip was the time we spend with our finnish group and the time at the party there I got to know one of the most interesting people during the hole trip. It was also nice to meet other people and use English more. I also liked when we went to see historical sights and walk around town; it was interesting to see how other cultures work and how our differences are easily noticable.

    Sunday, 3.03
At the first day, we had a meeting on an airport at 4:30am, so we were very sleepy.  Maybe that’s good, because on plane everyone was sleeping, so our trip passed really quickly. After transfer in Frankfurt, we finally reached Athens, from where we came by bus to Tripoli. When we arrived, everybody was divided into their families. We had lunches in our homes, with people that were completely adorable! After meeting family members, and especially our hosts, some of us went for sightseeing of beautiful Tripoli. In the evening we also met amazing people from other countries. We went together to eat something (pita!!) and just hang out around the city by night.

    Monday, 4.03
This was second day of our trip. In the morning we arrived to school and met students from other countries. We were absolutely amazed because of students’ performance. After this we got to know every group and presented our country, region nd school. It was very interesting experience. Next to this we had integration activities. When time at school had ended we went for a walk in Tripoli. In the evening we went to eat some great pizza. We had a lot of fun together with our hosts and students from other countries!

    Tuesday, 05.03
Third day of our activities started about 9 oclock. After Skype call with students form Czech Republic, we were arranged in groups. All of us were given directions where we should go and information about the tasks which were planned. We had to write a poem, think about our identity, write a song and learn how to sing beautiful anthem of our project. Than we had a coffee break. After that we had little demonstration of our hosts abilities. They played traditional Greek instruments. It was very breathtaking. Than we came back to hosts homes and spent some time with them.

    Wednesday, 6.03
That day we went to the ancient Mycenae and ancient theatre of Epidaurus. During this trip we learned a lot about ancient greek culture which we found very interesting. After that we went to the beautiful, seaside town - Nafplio, where we went for a long walk, ate lunch and bought souvenirs with French group. We also saw an amazing sunset by the sea. In the evening we came back to the Tripolis and we went to our host houses. That was very nice day and we had great time.

    Thursday, 7.03
This was a very exciting day. Firstly, we had a trip to the caves. Afterwards we went to see some fascinating museums. We came back home after long hours of sightseeing to get ready for the party. In the evening we all met in a beautiful restaurant to eat, dance and just spend some quality time all together with our hosts, their families and our friends from other countries. We had so much fun, ate some traditional meals and danced greek dances. This was the last evening with our hosts and their families.

    Friday, 8.03
We all woke up very early that day, because we were up to leave Tripolis. Although we were going to Athens, we were very sad, because we really liked the atmosphere and people wed met during this week. After leaving our luggage in the hotel, we went to Acropolis. It was really amazing - beautiful and in a great condition. We also went shopping and we found some souvenirs. In the evening we met in one of our hotel rooms, and with our French friends we were talking and enjoying our last moments together. That was a great day.
