    Objectives:

    Students are going to learn about Italian Christmas traditions and games.

    Students are going to learn about Italy.

    Success Criteria:

    -I know where Italy is.

    -I know what Italian flag looks like and the meaning of its colours.

    -I know what the capital city is.

    -I know the main features about Italy ( food, sport, fashion, monuments).

    -I know where Civitavecchia is.

    Introduction:

    The teachers introduce themselves briefly and present the map of Italy to the students.

    Activities/ Methods:

    -The teachers present Italy showing several objects representing Italy and  its culture.

    -The teachers present  the typical Christmas board game

    ” Tombola” and all students take part in it. The teacher teaches simple Italian words referring to the game.

    Evaluation:

    ( Checking students’ learning)

    -The teacher extracts and reads the  Tombola numbers (1-90) and the students have to make a cross on the right number of their card.
