Theme 2 - ENERGY SUSTAINABILITY

  • Theme 2: Energy sustainability: to respect the earth and life in all its diversity

    ST2.1 Energy Patrol – Students will conduct a weekly review of energy in their school to determine where it is overused or unnecessarily used; compare results between schools; create an intervention plan to save energy. Survey on consumption habits. We could make an environmental diagnosis in every school, that is, we could study the failures in energy saving and suggest measures to solve them.

    ST2.2. Renewable energy scale models - buy or build scale models of the different types of renewable energies within reach and then we can make a comparison between the different countries.

    ST2.3. Creation of a permanent solar device that should be given a place in the different schools of the project. A video about the elaboration and functioning of these solar devices could be made and shown in every partner school.

    ST2.4. Building solar vehicles scale models. Each country would build a small solar scale model (a little car, plane) with a group of students. A race competition or a contest could be organized between the models created in one of the meetings.

    ST2.5. Home Patrol - The students could also work on waste: what do we have in our garbage can?.

    ST2.6. We visit, we learn, we disseminate... – We would visit organic or bio farms, or different organisations, institutes related to the topic of the project in the participating countries. The students could work in school canteens: where do the products come from? We could compare the different school canteens and the proportion of local food.

    ST2.7.Ecological Vegetable garden: Every school would grow a vegetable garden.

    ST2.8. Tasting traditional dishes: Host countries could offer the visitors traditional dishes cooked with local products. For this activity, we could ask for parents’ collaboration. The products grown in the school garden. A solar cooking device could be used to prepare the dishes.
